After more than two years since the COVID-19 pandemic began to unfold, Maritime Studies (MAST) presents a compilation of 14 articles that provide unique insights into a marine world profoundly affected by both the pandemic as such, and the often drastic restrictions put in place to curb it. Together, the articles enable a comparison across geographical regions across the globe and offer timely theoretical as well as practical reflections. The special issue is edited by MARE board members Per Knutsson (University of Gothenburg) and Maarten Bavinck (University of Amsterdam).
